Loss of License SL2100
It has been reported that some SL2100’s are losing their Licenses months, even years after install.
Symptoms:
SIP Trunks BUSY & DT9xx Lic error
The most common License applied to SL2100 are the SIP trunk ( 5001 ) license. And IP extension ( 5101 ) License for DT900 handsets.
SIP trunks still register, however you cannot seize a trunk for calling out & inbound requests are responded to with a “486 BUSY HERE”.
Lic error on DT9xx handsets:
Disabling SIP trunks & re-enabling in 10-68-01 temporally resolves this issue
84-26-01 ( also frequently defaults itself as well )
It is recommended that all systems are upgraded to Version 5.2 to prevent this from occurring.
NEC Engineering notes:
Unexpected loss of licence on an older system has been known to happen from time to time, but has not been a frequent event.
In other parts of the world it was reported as occurring after an unplanned loss of power to the system, which is less common in Australia than other countries.
However, Japan did review the SW and implemented some improvements in V5.
The current version V5.2 is therefore the recommended version for sites in Australia.
