NEC MLT Phone Firmware Up Grade

To firmware update an IP Multi Line Terminal you need to have a TFTP server & access to the web interface of the IP handset, you can perform using handset access but it is easier using the web interface.

Pumpkin is a tested TFTP server that is a free download:

Only 2 options need to be set:  ( Check your firewall is off in your PC )

Download directory 

Give all files

Check your IP address of your PC as you will need to enter this into the config of the IP handset

Log into your handset 

Find your handset’s IP , Press & hold the Home / Help button , 2: Sys Info, 1:Network, Down 

Or check 15-05-07

Handset Web login credentials:

Username / Password  =  ADMIN/6633222

Navigate to :

Maintenance Settings – Download Menu – Download Files – Boot & Program

Select TFTP

Enter the IP address of the PC running the TFTP server

Check the file name the specific handset is requesting, Check you have the latest version downloaded from NEC Sharepoint website ( under Terminals – Software ) & placed it into the directory that you selected when setting up your TFTP server.

 

Press OK

Downloading … will flash on the handset ( approx. 3.5 minutes )

Downloading will stay flashing on the handset for another 60 seconds before Saving…. Will appear

Back on your web interface to the handset:

Will appear once complete , select OK 

Your handset will now reboot with this warning on the web interface
