Yeastar – Apply Background Images and Screensavers to Avaya J100




In this guide we have the below configured


  • Running a local HTTPS Server (using HFS 3.1.5) on a Windows PC
  • An FQDN configured to the public IP address of the internet connection the Windows PC is located
  • Opened port 8413 (TCP and UDP) to the Windows PC Local IP Address



HTTPS Server Setup

Install HFS 3.1.5

Open HFS in browser


Select Options

Enable and set HTTP as Custom and set a port number (Example 8412)

Select Save

After a minute close the warning box


The page will now be on the new port (if not refresh page)



Then set HTTPS Port as Choose and set the Port Number (Example: 8413)

Select Save


In HTTPS certificate file

Select make one


Select get a free but proper certificate


Enter your Domain and select Request


Select Go


A message will be displayed once successful

Close the message


A 90 day certificate will be created


Select CHANGE (next to Address)


















Enter manually your domain

Select Save


Confirm












Select Verify below Internet


Close the Warning that appears


Close the next Warning that appears


The Server and Internet will now be Green








Select Shared Files

Select the + Icon

Select file or folder from disk


Browse and select the file

Select Save icon


Browse to the Image file on the local Windows PC to confirm it displays

In Yeastar 

Select Auto Provisioning

Select Resource Repository

Select Custom Templates

Edit the Custom Template file you have uploaded


Scroll down and in the 

Customize Configuration Parameters in Text

Add the configuration to reference the HFS server and the image file

Example below

Select Save


In Yeastar 

Select Auto Provisioning

Select Phones

Locate and Edit the Avaya J100 phone



Confirm the phone is using the new Custom Template

Select Save


You can confirm that the image file is downloaded by the Avaya J100 phone

By selecting Monitor and watching the Live Log (while you reboot/restart/get updates or factory reset)


Example below

Shows the image file been downloaded from two J100 phones (local and remote)


Reboot

Reboot the Avaya J100 phone by unplugging the ethernet cable and re-connecting


Restart

On the Avaya J100 phone

Access the Administration

Select 3 horizontal line buttons

Scroll down and select Administration

Enter password: 27238

Select OK

Scroll down and select Restart Phone

Select Restart


If not working, you can try the below options









Get Updates

On the Avaya J100 phone

Access the Administration

Select 3 horizontal line buttons

Scroll down and select Administration

Enter password: 27238

Select OK

Scroll down and select Get Updates

The phone will pull the image files

Then restart

(If the image file doesn’t display on the phone, the next step is to reset the phone to factory default and register again)


Or


Reset to factory default

On the Avaya J100 phone

Access the Administration

Select 3 horizontal line buttons

Scroll down and select Administration

Enter password: 27238

Select OK

Scroll down and select Reset to factory defaults

(after this you will need to ensure a DHCP scope or DES server is in place to register the phones back to the Yeastar PBX. Or manually configure the phone)
