Copy the ID of the AI assistant

Return to the SIP Connection tab in the browser

Paste the ID of the AI assistant into the Internal SIP URI

Prefix it with a reference name (this doesn’t need to match the AI Assistant name, but we recommend doing so)

Add to the end

.sip.telnyx.com

In our example we have entered:

avayapbx@assistant-9fd5f402-25f9-40b0-82d2-be6de04051aa.sip.telnyx.com

The Username and Password doesn’t require changing in this section

Whitelisting Telnyx on Router

You will need to allow remote registration from Telnyx addresses below

This means allowing the SIP Port and RTP traffic through the firewall where the IPO is located

As we are using TCP and port 5060, it is not recommended to open this port, instead allow the Telnyx IP address

Domain:    Sip.telnyx.com

IP:        192.76.120.10    (sip.telnyx.com Primary IP)

IP:        64.16.250.10    (sip.telnyx.com Secondary IP)

Note when we have registered, we see it as 192.76.120.14 (recommended to also allow this IP address)

If registration fails and System Status is showing the extension as Blacklisted

In Avaya IPO

System – VoIP – Access Control Lists

Add the IP address in the IP Whitelist (that is trying to register

Change the Allow SIP User Agents to Allow All

TLS Registration

If using a public certificate, you can register the Telnyx UAC with TLS instead of TCP

We recommend you change the TLS port in the Avaya

In the Telnyx UAC connection add the port to the end of the Proxy address and set the Transport to TLS

In the firewall, you would need to allow the TLS port (plus the RTP voice traffic range) to the Avaya

Confirm Registration

In Avaya System Status

Check and confirm the Online Status of the Extension

Testing

Make an inbound call to the extension internally from another phone on the Avaya

Confirm that Telnyx answers the call (in this scenario the AI Assistant is answering)

View Records

In Telnyx select Reporting

Detailed Records

Set the filter required

Select Detailed Reports

Select Generate Detailed Reports

Download Report

Open the report in excel to view the call

AI Assistant Programming

In the AI Assistant, if you need the call to be transferred back to another extension on the PBX

You need to use the SIP Subdomain of the UAC Settings of the SIP Trunk created

Example below: SIP Subdomain is thjev6h8fanm.sip.telnyx.com

In the Transfer Number we have used sip:extn@thjev6h8fanm.sip.telnyx.com

Where extn is replaced with the extension number of the destination on the PBX
