NEC- SIP Trunks (Internet based) Prevention of phantom calls.
There are three ways to block an unauthorized SIP trunk call ringing into SV9100/SV8100/SL1100 and SL2100
system.
1. PRG10-29-02 Default proxy (receive) .If this PRG is Enable, the system receive the SIP
message send by Default proxy server. This change will prevent calls ringing into systems that
don’t originate from registered SIP server.

2. With registration type SIP trunks the source port PRG 84-14-06(Default 5060) must be
changed to a port other than 5060. Recommendation is to set a port 5 digits in length.

If Using port forwards in the router
Note: When the source port is changed, the router port forwarding has to change. Previously
the port forwarding would have been “WAN IP, port 5060 to LAN IP Port 5060”.
This will need to be deleted and a new entry added “WAN IP, port XXXXX to LAN IP Port
XXXXX”. XXXXX represents your chosen 5 digit port. The SV9100/SL2100/SV8100 and
SL1100 must be reset when PRG 84-14-06 is changed.

3. Router Configuration: What I suggest to be done is, only allow request from
(XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) sip server source, on port XXXXX. All other source public IP Address to
port XXXXX will be blocked by router. Since router capability varies, please contact router
vendor to provide configuration details.
