Best Practice for new Installs

The SV9100 CP20 has introduced portal mode on the DT900 handsets , all DT900’s will show the following screen by default.

The 8 Icons are basically speed dials that are hard coded to the handset (not in system programming)

It is very hard to navigate the handset when using this “Portal Mode” & recommend changing all 960 ports to Classic before programming the system.

15-05-53 ( Classic / Portal ) cant be changed by script ( Web interface or PCPro only )

In order to see “all ports before you program” you need to set up PCPro accounts to view them.

To do this you need to set up PC Pro to view all extension ports regardless if they are registered or not, once set up on your installed PC Pro.

Set up PC Pro

Open PC Pro as nec-i / 374772

Go to Home , PC Pro accounts

Select nec-i & tech levels one at a time & press Properties

Go to the View tab, then uncheck the 2 options.

Now when you login again, you will see all the extensions that have not populated.

Step 3 - Firmware update CPU

Step 4 - Default CPU ( turn SV9100 off, Hold down the Load button, turn on , keeping the Load button down for a further 10 seconds.)

Step 5  Connect to the SV9100 again

Step 6 - Download Database

Step 7 – Goto the first extension port in 15-05-53 & change it from Portal to Classic. Apply, then copy & paste from extension 101 to ALL ports

Step 10 - Ensure you perform the security requirements in SIB 329

Step 11 - Upload the database

Step 12 - Disconnect

Step 13 – Install your cards / register IP Extensions

NOTE: if you use PC Pro after you have installed cards / registered IP extensions, remember you need to re-download the system again.
