Avaya IPO Register 9600 IP H323 Phone
Access the system using Avaya IPO Manager
Select System
Confirm Phone File Server Type is Memory Card (or Disk if using an IPOSE)
Confirm Use Preferred Phone Ports is enabled
Select System, LAN, VoIP
Enable H323 Gatekeeper
The phone registers using port 1719 on the local network
Remote Phone
If the H323 phones is remote
Enable H323 Remote Extn Enable
The H323 phones use port 1720 TCP and 8411 TCP to reach the system and register
It also uses the RTP Port range set in the LAN VoIP tab
Ports to open on firewall/router and forward to the Avaya IPO LAN

45750-50750 UDP (40750-50750 UDP if IPOSE) note this port range is the default one, check in LAN, VoIP to confirm if this has been modified and adjust the port forwarding to match
Select System, LAN, Network Topology
Set the Firewall/NAT Type as One-To-One NAT
Set the Public IP Address to match the IP address of the internet connection the Avaya IPO is connected to
Select Extensions
Create a H323 Extension
Extension ID can be left as it is
Set the Base Extension as the User Extension
Set the Phone Password to the required login code
In VoIP tab untick Allow Direct Media Path
Select Users
Create a User with the same extension number as the H323 Extension you have created
In Telephony set the Supervisor Login to match the Phone Password set in the H323 Extension
Select License and confirm you have Avaya IP Endpoint Licenses available
If using Subscription, you will need a Telephony User license or greater
Save the configuration, Select File, Save Configuration
Avaya IPO Security Settings
Access Security Settings
Select File, Advanced, Security Settings
Select Services and set the HTTP service security level to Unsecure + Secure
(this is to allow the 9600 H323 phone to register to the system via TCP)
Select File, Save Security Settings
Register the 9600 H323 phone to the Avaya IPO
On the phone, select MUTE CRAFT (27238) # to access the Administration Menu
Scroll down and select CLEAR, select Clear to confirm procedure and factory reset phone
The phone will reboot
When prompted on the screen press * to program
Enter the code CRAFT (27238) #
Scroll down and select ADDR
Set the Call Server, HTTP Server and HTTPS server as the IP address of the Avaya IPO LAN
NOTE: if the phone is registering remotely enter the public IP address set in the Network Topology (this is the public IP address of the internet connection the Avaya IPO is connected to)
Select Back, select Exit
The phone will reboot
This time do not select * to program when prompted, instead leave the phone to obtain DHCP from the network, it will then connect to the system and request the login details
Enter the Extension and Enter/OK
Enter the Login code (phone password) and Enter/OK
Confirm Registration
The phone will register as the extension
Check System Status to confirm the phone is registered

Troubleshooting
If registering via TCP locally confirm you can browse to both files below using the Avaya LAN IP

If registering via TCP remotely confirm you can browse to both files below using the Public IP of the Avaya IPO (do this from a laptop on the same remote network as the phone)

If you cannot browse to the files, check that the port 8411 is open on the router
