Avaya IP Office – Upgrading J100 Series Handset Firmware



Download the latest J100 Series firmware from Avaya Support site.

Access https://support.avaya.com/support/en/downloads

Sign in with your Avaya SSO login.

In the search, enter J100 Series IP Phones and select the firmware version you require.

Select the latest firmware. (example below)

Select the file at the bottom of the page and download the zip file

You can also download the ReadMe related to the firmware release which contains the features and fixes included in the release.

Extract the zip folder.














Browse to the J100Supgrade.txt file to view the current firmware on the Avaya IPO

Example: https://192.168.86.200/J100Supgrade.txt

Access the Embedded File Management of the IPO (using Manager).

Browse to the Primary folder.



Select File, Upload File

Browse to the folder containing the firmware, select all the files (you don’t need to include the signatures folder)



Select Open



If prompted, select Yes to All.

The files will begin uploading. Once completed, select Close.

Once the files have been uploaded, refresh the browse on the J100Supgrade.txt file to view the current firmware on the Avaya IPO

Reboot the J100 Series handsets, on startup they will contact the IP Office and read the J100Supgrade.txt file and proceed to upgrade their firmware.


Once completed you can check System Status and select an J100 Series handset extension to confirm they have the new firmware.
