Avaya IPO Backup Procedure



Configuration Backup  Manager


Open Manager and login to the system

Select File, Save Configuration As


Select a location and name the file and select Save

If required, you can set a password on the config, then select OK

If a password is set, then when opening the conifg file with Manager the password will need to be entered

Configuration Backup – Web Manager

Access the IPO via a browser (example below)

To download configuration (IP500v2) select Actions, Download Configuration

To download configuration (IPOSE) select 3 horizontal lines, Download Configuration

System Status Snapshot


Open System Status and login to the system


Select Snapshot

Select Include Switch Configuration

Select Snapshot Only

Select OK


Select a location and select Save

Voicemail Pro Backup


Open Voicemail Pro Client and login to the system (select Download if prompted to download the latest callflow)


Select File, Import or Export

Select Export Data, Next


Select a location and name the file

The Entire Database will be backed up (but you can change this to backup only module, or conditions if required)

Select Open, Next, Finish, Close

Voicemail Pro Administration Backup


The entire database backup will not include the Administration settings


In Voicemail Pro, select Administration, System Preferences


Take a screen shot of the different tabs (specifically the General and Email/SMTP Sender)

Confirm you know the Voicemail Password and have the full SMTP details (if programmed) before you upgrade, in case these need to be programmed again

These Administration settings can also be found in Web Manager by selecting Applications, Voicemail Pro System Preferences



Voicemail Pro Audio File Backup – Web Manager


Access the IPO via a browser (example below) 

https://192.168.86.210:7070/WebManagement/WebManagement.html - IPOSE


Select Applications, File Manager

Browse the folders to view, select and download the audio files


Disk – vmpro – Names        (contains are the recorded names of the users and or groups)

Disk – vmpro – Greetings    (contains the greetings of the user and or groups)

Disk – VMProCustomPrompts    (contains the audio files used in Voicemail Pro callflows)



Voicemail Pro Audio File Backup – SFTP Client


Access the voicemail pro server using an SFTP client (example WinSCP or BitVise)


WinSCP Configuration

Set the IP Address as the Host Name

Set the Port Number 22

Set the Username as Administrator

Set the Password as the Linux Administrator password

Select Save


Optionally if a private key is required

Select Advanced

Select SSH, Authentication

Select the Private Key

Select OK

Select Login



Browse to /opt/vmpro

Download the following folders

Accounts    (contains are the voicemails they currently have)

Greetings    (contains the greetings of the user and or groups)

Names        (contains the recorded names of the users and or groups)

Wavs/CustomPrompts    (contains the audio files used in Voicemail Pro callflows)
