Avaya J100 Handset – Change Registration from TLS to TCP
If the J100 handset is showing “Acquiring Service” then the issue could be the certificate (TLS). To rule this out you can change the handset registration back to TCP to prove if the issue is the certificate.
Steps to take
On the J100 handset select the 3 horizontal lines scroll down and select Administration
(Alternatively, If Admin is on the screen, press the softkey below to select it)
Enter the Administration Access Code: 27238 CRAFT
Select Enter
Scroll down and select SIP
Select SIP global settings
Scroll down to SIP Proxy Policy
Select Toggle (to change from Auto to Manual)
Select Save
Scroll down and select SIP Proxy List
Select New
Enter the IP Office LAN address as the SIP Proxy
Set the Protocol as TCP
Set the SIP port as 5060 (to match the default TCP port in the IPO, default 5060)
Select Save
Select Back until you reach the login screen
Login as the extension (number and login code)
Check System Status to confirm if the extension has registered
