One SIP Registrations, Programming Line Appearance Key to enable Users to dial out via specific number
In the Call Details SIP URI, the SIP line has been setup on Line 17 for inbound and outbound.
In the below setup our second entry means the User calling out will display the CLI programmed in their SIP tab.
Enable SIP Line Appearance in the Call Details.
Set the Credentials to use my primary number.
Set the Incoming and Outgoing Group ID as 17.
Set Max Sessions to 1 (we can see the Line Appearance 701 has been assigned).
The Display and Content Details have been set to use the number 0712345678.
The Outgoing and Incoming Calls Field Meaning has been set to Explicit.
In the User button programming.
Add a Line Appearance button against the Line Appearance number 701.
When pressing the button, the User will dial out and display the CLI number.
Additionally, the Action Data can be adjusted to choose if a call is received on this line if it should ring the phone immediately, delayed or not at all (this is an audible setting).
The Appearance keys are required for internal dial tone and transferring (but can be moved if required to further down the button list)
This is in addition to the call also ringing at the destination set in the incoming call route (as per the below)
If you require the inbound call to not be presented to a User, for example the User requires the button to make outbound calls on that number, but don’t want to receive or be notified of the incoming calls on that number. Then disable Ringing Line Preference and Idle Line Preference.
In the incoming call route, you can create an entry for the line group ID 17 with the incoming number as 0712345678 and set the destination as required.
This will allow the calls inbound on the specific number to route to the destination set.
This could be a group for example.
Two SIP Registrations, Programming Line Appearance Key to enable Users to dial out via second registration number
A secondary SIP registration has been added under the same SIP provider
A second set of credentials have been programmed
Below is the secondary number (example 123)
A new SIP URI is programmed for the secondary number 123.
In the example it has been setup explicitly for the telephone number 123 with a max session of 1 (so only 1 call inbound/outbound on this number, but you can adjust this to match the number of concurrent calls on this number).
Program the Incoming and Outgoing Group ID with a unique number, example 22.
Set the details to explicitly use the number 123.
Enable SIP Line Appearance in the Call Details and configured the secondary number 123 with an incoming and outgoing group of 22.
Set the max sessions to 1 (Line Appearance 701 has been assigned).
Set the details to use the number 123 explicitly for all.
Because a Line Appearance key is configured on the user, it means that the call will be presented to the user’s phone (no matter what the Action Data for the audible ring is set to).
This is in addition to the call also ringing at the destination set in the incoming call route (as per the below).
If you require the inbound call to not be presented to a User, for example the User requires the button to make outbound calls on that number, but don’t want to receive or be notified of the incoming calls on that number. Then disable Ringing Line Preference and Idle Line Preference.
In the incoming call route, you can create an entry for the line group ID 22 with the incoming number as 123 and set the destination as required.
This will allow the calls inbound on the secondary number to route to the destination set.
This could be a group for example.
Program Multiple Line Appearance against One Number
In the SIP Line Appearance, you can increase the Max Sessions (example 4).
In the User button programming.
Add a Line Appearance button for each of the 4 Line Appearance numbers (701 through to 704).
In the User, program a Line Appearance keys for the Line 701 through to 704.
In the example below, we have moved the Appearance keys to buttons 7 and 8 (these are required for internal dial tone and transferring
The Line Appearance keys have been programmed on buttons 1 through to 4.
